Meet Dianne...

Hi! My name is Dianne DeNecochea. I am the founder of ProActive Volley. I educate volleyball players and their parents as they navigate the college volleyball recruiting process. I am a consultant, advisor, recruiting coach, and positive mentor here to educate and encourage volleyball players as they learn and grow on their journey to becoming strong and confident prospective student-athletes!

Volleyball has been a huge part of my life. I started playing when I was 12 years old in 7th grade. I began the college volleyball recruiting process as a sophomore in high school only because coaches started sending me letters. I had no idea I was good enough to play volleyball in college. I was 6’3″ and could walk and chew gum at the same time…college coaches saw me at club tournaments and thought I was a raw athlete.

After being recruited by 4 or 5 schools I decided to be a student-athlete at the University of Tennessee on full scholarship. Tennessee was as far away from Michigan (where I grew up) as I was willing to go, and the Smokey Mountains and green hills were captivating. Knoxville was a big city to me at the time.

After college, I played volleyball professionally 5 seasons indoor in the US and Europe,  on the 4-Person Pro Beach Tour for a few years, the FIVB Tour for a few seasons and the AVP Pro Beach Tour for 12 seasons.

I have 2 daughters that play volleyball and I began the college volleyball recruiting journey with my older daughter, Avalon, when she was a freshman in high school. I understand the recruiting process from the family’s perspective. Helping high school volleyball players find a volleyball program and school that is a good fit is very rewarding to me. After being involved in the volleyball world in so many capacities (college player, pro player, high school and club coach, high school and club parent, college parent), I feel so fortunate and honored to help high school players and their families navigate the college volleyball recruiting process. I’m right there with you.

Ready to Get Started? How I can Help...

The college volleyball recruiting process can be daunting, intimidating and overwhelming to players and their parents. I know, I’ve been there. The recruiting process has changed since I was being recruited. Now, unless you are a top player in the country, for college coaches to find you is like finding a needle in a hay stack. You must be proactive (hence the name ProActive Volley) to find a good fit as a collegiate volleyball player.

Not sure how to get started in the college volleyball recruiting process and when? Are you talking to some coaches and not sure what to do next? Are the NCAA rule changes leaving you confused as to what you should and can do now?

PROACTIVE VOLLEY SERVICES and more information on what to expect if you work with me.

I advise high school age volleyball players and their parents around the country as they navigate the college volleyball recruiting process. I have a systematic process to get going OR get un-stuck in the recruiting process. I advise and guide the player and parents along the way. I help to provide a buffer between the player and their parents, working most of the time directly with the player, helping them with communication, timing, goals, next steps and working on developing a great target list that fits their academic goals along with their potential volleyball skill level.
